Charity Shop DJ first DJ to play the Indian High Commission!

On September 21 2006, Charity Shop DJ performed at the Nehru Centre, London, the cultural wing of the Indian High Commission. Drawing from his collection of vintage Bollywood vinyl he played classic hits from Bollywood to an audience who were able to select tracks of their choice. The experience brought back memories for many, and an array of interesting stories were exchanged. Nehru Centre staff commented that it was the first time they'd seen a DJ at the Indian High Commission.

Charity Shop DJ at Cabaret Royale, Queen's Head, Belper. October 7th

Saturday October 7th, upstairs at the Queen's Head, Belper, saw a fantastic night in aid of
Oxjam.

The 'Cabaret Royale' threw open its doors at 8.30pm, and the entertainment continued until
2.00am. MC was Belperšs sharpest wit and legend in his own mind, Andy Minion, who introduced
a blinding array of musical delights, commencing with Alison K, playing accordion dance
music with a twist. The night also witnessed the UK premier of Metier, who performed songs with
soul threaded with unexpected rhythms. A sensational debut which left the crowd demanding
more. Headliners The Moscow Straits continued with their melodic rock and reggae from the
frontline of Duffield, and the evening was interleaved with musical surprises and late night DJ
action from Dr Matt, back-to-back with very special guest Charity Shop DJ and his
EasyAction Sound System, who invited the audience to choose their cheese.

It was a great night
