Charity Shop DJ presented the Charity Shop DJ Lounge at Vintage at Goodwood 13 - 15 August 2010.
Thanks to all those who dropped in and shared their musical memories.
We had a great time - and got to meet some surprise guests, including Martyn Ware, keyboard player with Heaven 17, shown here with a 12" copy of their 1981 single, (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang.
The festival was held in the lush surroundings of the Goodwood Estate and combined the best of contemporary music, fashion, art, design and culture from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

In early 2010 Charity Shop DJ was asked to create a bespoke project for Northampton Volunteering Centre: one that would help to create new communication between people from different ages and parts of the city, and that would help to increase the numbers of volunteers involved in projects in the city.
Over the course of 2 weeks in June 2010, artists Owain Wilson, Nicci Wilson and Andy Jupp worked in 3 different locations across the city, using music, lyrics, and visual arts to explore how experiences of life can be similar across generations and groups and individuals. Find out more here

The Olde Bell, Saddler Gate, Derby
Catch the film at the Five Lamps film night, Tuesday 28th July at the Olde Bell on Saddler Gate, Derby. Starts around 8pm.
Five Lamps Films host monthly events which aim to give both established and aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to show their work on a big screen to other filmmakers, industry freelancers, film fans and members of the general public.
Between January and May 2009 community groups and individuals across Derby were invited to take part in a series of workshops in which people were encouraged to share their musical tastes with one another.
Stills photography and film footage were produced which formed the basis of The Charity Shop DJ Lounge exhibition in Derby Museum, alongside previously unseen objects and ephemera from the Museum collection.
The photographs and footage will also form a key part of a major new World Record Holders project.
By communicating these choices with each other, it is hoped that people of different ages and backgrounds across the city will understand something new about one another in a spirit of equality and respect.
