Since 2015, Charity Shop DJ has been part of the beating heart of Urban Village Fete: London’s free, modern, and vibrant take on the traditional village fair.
Held every May in Greenwich Peninsula, the event is a celebration of community, creativity, music, design and local culture, and we've been proud to bring The People’s Party to the dancefloor every single year since it began.
Our return each May is more than a booking — it’s a reunion. With regular visitors, surprise guest DJs, and new faces each year, it's become an annual moment of pure connection.

2025 marks 10 years since Charity Shop DJ first hit the decks at Urban Village Fete.
2015 – The Beginning

Our debut year! We arrived at Urban Village Fete with crates of charity shop vinyl, a makeshift DJ booth, and big dreams. What started as an experiment quickly became a magnet for curious passersby. The response? Heartfelt stories, unexpected dance moves, and the beginning of something beautiful.
2016 – Growing the Dancefloor

Word spread and the crowds grew. More records, more people, more joy. We saw families dancing together, strangers connecting over stories, and the People’s Party begin to take on a life of its own.

This year saw us on Stage 2 — a space to really stretch out and let the energy flow. From disco dads to soul sisters, people stepped up, shared their songs and lit up the decks. It was raw, joyful and community-powered from start to finish.

With the sun out in full force, our little vinyl corner became a hub of warmth, laughter and movement. The decks were non-stop, the stories heartfelt, and the dancefloor pulsing with life.

Like the rest of the world, Urban Village Fete took a break due to the pandemic. But behind the scenes, we were planning, dreaming, and working out how to come back stronger.

Our first year back, and wow — the energy was electric. People came ready to connect, dance and celebrate the joy of shared experiences. It was emotional, beautiful and exactly what we all needed.

The People’s Party was overflowed with music lovers, storytellers and spontaneous dancers. A beautiful celebration of community, creativity and crate-digging.

A full decade since we first pitched up at Urban Village Fete — and this year was one for the books. The sun came out, the vinyl flowed, and so did the stories. From toddlers picking their first tunes to seasoned crate diggers spinning forgotten gems, the People's Party was buzzing all day long.
